In grade school, Nikki was encouraged to keep singing after a well-received school concert performance. In addition to singing, Nikki also learned to play violin in 3rd grade. She continued playing into 8th grade and was awarded 1st chair violin. From there she chose to focus more on the singing and became involved in voice lessons, Phoenix Girls Chorus, school choirs and musicals, dance, professional women’s group called Little Women, and female acapella group called ASU Pitchforks. She then picked up guitar which gave her a vehicle to accompany herself singing for the first time. With her enthusiasm to learn and dedication to practice, Nikki was soon performing gigs all around the valley and started to live her childhood dream of becoming a professional musician.
